AssetPilot features and limits by version

AssetPilot for Jira manages assets, assignments and history inside Jira. Features marked 0.2 remain planned until Atlassian approves the 0.2 update, which is in Marketplace review.

Asset types and fields

Each asset type has its own fields. The 11 field types are text, long text, number, currency, date, select, multi-select, checkbox, URL, email and Jira user.

Any field can be required or unique. Tag and serial number are unique by default.

Each type has its own fields. See Asset types and fields.

Lifecycle

Statuses have a category (available, in use, pending, maintenance or retired), a colour and allowed transitions.

You can require a note for chosen transitions, such as sending an asset for repair or retiring it.

An example lifecycle. See Lifecycle.

Check-out and check-in

Assign an asset to a Jira user or external person, meaning someone without a Jira account, with a due date and note.

Overdue loans appear in Alerts and on the dashboard. Every user has a My assets view.

Check out to a Jira user or an external person. See Asset records.

Issue panel and JQL

The Assets panel on every issue shows linked assets and the reporter's devices. You can link, unlink, check out to the reporter or check in without leaving the issue.

Linked tags are written to the assetpilot issue property. Use this query in JQL, filters, boards and automation:

issue.property[assetpilot].tags = "AP-00042"
The Assets panel on a Jira issue. See Assets in Jira issues.

CSV import and export

Upload a CSV, review the suggested column mapping and check the validation preview for every row. Choose whether to skip or update rows that match an existing tag or serial.

Locations are created as needed. Export the current filter to CSV at any time.

Column mapping in the import wizard. See Import from CSV.

QR codes and labels

Every asset has a QR code that opens its page in Jira.

0.2: print label sheets for multiple assets, with the layout and fields set in Settings → Labels.

Dashboard and alerts

The dashboard shows counts, purchase value, warranty and overdue tables. A daily attention digest highlights items needing attention.

Audit log

Every change records the actor, time and changed fields, both per asset and in a global log.

The global audit log. See Audit log.

Light and dark themes

AssetPilot follows Jira's light or dark theme on every page.
