Asset records, check-out, check-in and status changes
Every asset has a record page with its details, type attributes, assignment, linked issues, QR code and history. Open it by selecting a tag anywhere in AssetPilot or in the Jira issue panel.

Check out
Use Check out to hand an asset to someone.
- Choose Jira user or External person. External people are managed in People, and you can add one from the dialog.
- Pick the person.
- Set a Due date if the asset should come back, for example for a loaner.
- Optionally enter a Jira issue key to link the request, and a note.
- Select Check out. The status moves to your in use status and the asset appears in the person's My assets.
Check in
Use Check in when the asset comes back.
Choose the status after check-in (your default status, usually Available), the location and an optional note. Keep Keep the link to IT-1042 selected to leave the issue link in place.
Change status
Change status lists only the transitions your lifecycle allows from the current status. Unavailable statuses are disabled with a tooltip such as Not allowed from In use.
Link a Jira issue
Select Link issue on the record, search by key or summary and select Link. Issues that are already linked show Linked.
Linked issues also show the asset in their Assets panel, and the tag becomes searchable with JQL.
Print a QR code
Every asset has a QR code that opens its record in Jira. Select Print in the QR code card, or ⋯ → Print QR, and stick the label on the device or its box.
