Locations and external people in AssetPilot

Locations say where an asset is. People are the holders who don't have a Jira account. Both live under Configure.

Locations​

Four locations and the Create location dialog.

Locations group assets by site, building or floor. Select Create location and enter:

  • Name, shown in filters, the asset form and imports. Use Site · Floor for buildings with several floors, for example HQ Kyiv · Floor 4.
  • Address (optional), shown on the asset record and printed labels.

Good to know:

  • Imports create missing locations by name.
  • A location with assets can't be deleted. Move its assets first, for example with Move to location in the Assets list.

People​

External people: contractors, interns, shared desks and rooms.

Add people who hold assets but don't have a Jira account: contractors, interns, shared desks and meeting rooms. Select Add person and enter a name, an optional email and a company or team.

  • Jira users are picked directly in Check out and never appear here.
  • Use With assets only to find people who currently hold something.
  • A person with assets can't be deleted. Check their assets in first.

External people's names and emails are stored in AssetPilot. See Data and privacy.
